Rewards

During Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, students are rewarded for a wide range of achievements including academic success, Year awards and contributions, competitions, sporting excellence and attendance, through the school’s reward system. Celebrating success motivates and inspires high standards of student achievement as well as self-discipline.

At Whitworth Park Academy, students can gain rewards on a lesson-by-lesson basis by achieving an R1 to R4 from the Rewards Ladder. Each R is worth a number of achievement points, and these points allow students to earn recognition in assemblies, gain entries into Rewards Draws, and attend an end-of-year Rewards Trip.

Each member of staff also selects a Star of the Week. This is awarded to a student who has gone above and beyond during lessons with that member of staff.

We believe it is important to recognise students’ hard work and commitment, as this will lead to valued and confident young people who strive to achieve their true potential.
