Character Education

We develop character through each year group through the whole school curriculum, PD, pastoral and tutor time programmes. We have a termly focus throughout the year to develop key characteristics such as resilience, leadership, confidence, independence, creativity and teamwork.  

Whitworth Park Academy uses the ‘caught, taught and sought’ approach as we believe character education should be planned, intentional and embedded across the whole school community through focusing on three key areas: 

• Caught through the school environment  
• Taught through the school curriculum 
• Sought through school experiences.
