Admission Arrangements
Whitworth Park Academy’s Year 7 admissions comply with and are operated by Durham County Council.
The school currently operates a maximum Pupil Admission Number (PAN) of 220 in Y7 only. We operate an open access and fully inclusive admissions policy with pupils from all backgrounds and abilities being welcome.
For entry into Year 7, applications to the Academy will be made through the Local Authority co-ordinated admissions scheme. The Academy will operate the same admissions arrangements and oversubscription criteria as Durham County Council.
To view how an ALP school considers applications for every age group and what parents should do if they want to apply for a place for their child at the school please read the Admission Policy found on the ALP admissions page. Within the policy there will also be details of oversubscription criteria.
School admission dates: School admissions for September 2026 are now closed. Applications for 2027 admissions will open in September 2026.
How to apply for a place: As a parent/carer, you will need to complete the Common Application Form (CAF) online or as hard copy, and submit to the Local Authority by 31st October in Year 6.
