Welcome to Whitworth Park Academy.
As Headteacher, I am incredibly proud to lead such a successful, ambitious and caring school community. Choosing the right secondary school for your child is one of the most important decisions a family will make, and I am honoured that so many families continue to place their trust in us. Today, Whitworth Park Academy is firmly established as the school of choice for Spennymoor and the surrounding areas, with growing student numbers, an oversubscribed Year 7 intake and a reputation for delivering exceptional outcomes for young people.
Our success is built on a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves the very best educational experience, every day.
We are relentless in our commitment to ensuring that all children achieve highly, develop strong character and leave us well prepared for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
We are particularly proud to be celebrating record GCSE results for the second consecutive year. These outstanding outcomes are the result of the hard work, determination and partnership between our students, staff and families. However, whilst academic achievement is important, we believe education is about so much more than examination results alone.
